The risk of cancer is manifolds for people who snore and now detailed research has found that severe snorers nearly 4.8 more at a risk of dying from cancer than people who do not snore. A study conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health came to the conclusion that oxygen starvation enhances the chances of tumor growth. The study took into account 1500 people over a period of 22 years while it was collaborated by laboratory tests that were conducted on mice that there is an increase in the growth of tumors when the body undergoes oxygen starvation. In this specific study, the scientists and researchers took into account the sex, weight, smoking status of participants.

Most sleep disorders such as sleep apnea and snoring cause oxygen deprivation and according to the study led by Dr. Javier Nieto, who said that the evidence is compelling as animal experiments and human study have shown similar results. With the results signifying that Sleep disordered breathing (SDB) and cancer are interlinked so most people undergoing cancer treatment will be helped when the snoring is treated simultaneously.

The finding of the snoring and sleep-disordered breathing study has been published at the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. The study was presented in San Francisco at the American Thoracic Society international seminar. The surprising element was that the connection between snoring and skin cancer surgery was more in lean patients than the obese ones. It was seen that sleep disordered breathing (SDB) such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea led to oxygen deprivation for many hours during the night and low-oxygen levels in the blood led to the development of malignant tumor cells.

The main reason that snoring occurs is due to the intense vibration of the soft throat tissues while inhaling and exhaling when asleep. However, in sleep-disordered breathing problem, the most common of which is Obstructive Sleep Apnea which leaves the snoring individual struggling for breath. Sleep apnea is related to diabetes, obesity, hypertension and stroke among other fatal diseases. The breakthrough study has again put the limelight on the need to stop snoring and use effective anti-snoring solutions such as Asonor that is known the world over as quick acting, non-invasive snoring remedy.
